​Drawing inspiration from her late father's memoirs, GUT (굿) is Soomi Kim’s autobiographical dance theatre work which aims to put him and her unresolved resentments to rest while unearthing revelations about both her family and herself. Blending dance, text and bi-lingual narrative, GUT (굿) marks the fifth and final chapter of Kim’s 20 year exploration of mortality within visionary AAPI lives. GUT (굿) brings together a stellar company of 5 AAPI performers led by director Peter Kim, choreographer Sunny Min-Sook Hitt, and dramaturg Haruna Lee. The piece was first developed at Berkeley Rep’s Ground Floor residency in 2023 and continues its journey at BAM's 2024 Artist Residency.
