GUT (굿)

Drawing inspiration from her late father's memoirs, GUT (굿) is Soomi Kim’s autobiographical dance theatre work which aims to put him and her unresolved resentments to rest while unearthing revelations about both her family and herself. Blending dance, text and bi-lingual narrative, GUT (굿) marks the fifth and final chapter of Kim’s 20 year exploration of mortality within visionary AAPI lives.  The piece was first developed at Berkeley Rep’s Ground Floor residency in 2023 (mentored by Leigh Silverman) and continued its journey at BAM's 2024 Artist Residency.
